Executive Director of PDF Retires After 20 Years

The board has appointed Lora Wondolowski, PDF’s Director of Advancement and Communications, as the Interim Executive Director until a permanent executive director is found. Paul and the PDF board of directors are working with staff and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition for their grantees, fiscally-sponsored partners, and supporters. A succession committee drawn from board and staff membership is charged with searching for the new Executive Director.

PDF announced grant awards through their STMF to 19 social justice organizations in every region of the United States, as well as Haiti and Mexico. Each organization received grants of varying amounts for a total of $80,000 granted this spring.

PDF Supports Students' Rights to Protest
The Peace Development Fund stands in solidarity with the student protesters fighting for divestment from the arms industry and a ceasefire in the Israel/Gaza War. These non-violent demonstrations for social justice are being misconstrued and met with excessive force. We urge universities to uphold peaceful protest and free speech and call on legislators to end attempts to silence dissent. Students have long been at the forefront of social change in the US and around the world. True peace requires listening to all voices, not suppressing criticism.

The Peace Development Fund is more than a grantmaker: our model of philanthropy involves direct funding, advocacy where appropriate and partnerships built around mutual respect, sharing of resources, and transparency of planning and decision-making. We endeavor to be a key “go-to” foundation on issues of peace, human rights, social justice and environmental protection.
