Eligibility

Eligible Organizations:  

• PDF funds grassroots community organizations that:  

• Are based in the United States, Haiti, or Mexico. 

• Are working towards social justice. 

• Demonstrate a commitment to our grantmaking pillars. 

• Have a clear organizational structure, and defined mission. 

Ineligible Organizations and Projects:  

• PDF does not fund: 

• Individuals. 

• Government agencies. 

• For-profit organizations. 

• Organizations with primarily religious purposes. 

• Projects that are primarily service-delivery oriented without a community organizing component. 

• Projects that are solely academic research. 

• Organizations with out a clear mission statement. 

Fiscal Sponsorship:  

• Organizations without 501(c)(3) status may apply through a fiscal sponsor. 

• The fiscal sponsor must be a 501(c)(3) organization. 

• A fiscal sponsorship agreement must be provided. 

Additional Requirements:  

• Organizations must demonstrate financial accountability. 

• Organizations must have a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

• Organizations must have a plan for how their work will continue after the grant period.
