Grantee Highlight:
Our Fire Collective (OFC) helps public education and health sector workers manage and mitigate the effects of workplace trauma exposure and burnout. Their mission is to offer culturally sustaining experiences that guide these professionals to practice creative, relational, and mindful habits to better steward this exposure. Through direct coaching, peer learning, and customized retreats, they actively shift the work culture. This approach ensures workers are equipped to continue their important mission without sacrificing their well-being, ultimately building a sustainable workforce where employees are empowered to show up as their full, authentic selves.
“OFC’s framework is cyclical because healing often is an ongoing process that doubles back and repeats to build resilience. Within each phase – release; connect; restore; create; commit; integrate – OFC offers a combination of research-based trauma support, cultural traditions of healing and mindfulness, and somatic practices.” — Naqibah Al-Kaleem, OFC
